Did You Know?

May is International Building Safety Month

Throughout the month of May, for 5 weeks, we're highlighting the theme, Building Codes Save Lives. Building Safety Month is a public awareness campaign supported by International Code Council (ICC) and its members to help individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create and sustain safe, sustainable and resilient structures.

During the month of May, displays will be placed in Town Hall, as well as the Cary Senior Center, emphasizing the importance of building safety, answering questions like:

  • What are building codes?
  • How do they help?
  • What does a family disaster and evacuation plan look like?
  • And many more!

We also will host a Building Safety seminar with questions and answers at a local Cary home improvement store (details TBA).

The Cary Town Council officially proclaimed May 2018 as Building Safety Month at the May 3, 2018 Town Council Meeting.
