The Citizen's Convenience Center accepts residential solid waste, recycling and yard waste for proper disposal. Commercial use and waste from private contractors including landscape/garden companies, is prohibited. The center does not allow residents to unload from box trucks/U-Haul type vans.

Accepted Materials

  • Household Bagged Garbage - no fee
  • Bulky trash - furniture, mattresses, box springs, grills, toilets, other broken household items; no fee.
  • Appliances for recycling; fees may apply. To keep our community and crews safe, please secure or remove doors on all appliances such as refrigerators and freezers.
  • Residential Yard Waste: Limbs must be smaller than 6 inches in diameter, no limit on length of limb.
  • Residential Electronics for Recycling:
  1.  Misc. electronics such as DVD/VCR/Printers/Audio speakers; No fee
  2. *Electronic items (Monitor/TVs/Laptop): $10 fee per electronic item
    *An "electronic item" includes television, monitor or laptop and may be bundled with one or all of the following: cased CPU, keyboard, mouse.

  • Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)  Take HHW to one of the following sites:

Chatham HHW Collection Events;  every third Saturday of the month.   

Wake HHW acceptable materials can be taken to the following Monday - Saturday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.:
