The primary mission of the Cary Fire Department is to protect and enhance the high quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the Town of Cary from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies. Our goal is to provide a model citizen-oriented Fire Protection program through an innovative, proactive and cost-efficient approach to emergency response, fire code application and public fire education.

The Cary Fire Department currently employs 222 employees who serve a population of more than 153,000 in a 58 square mile area. The Insurance Services Office (ISO) has awarded the town a class 1 Public Protection Classification.
