BMX Freestyle Events

Cary has been selected by USA Cycling to host the 2019 USA Cycling BMX Freestyle National Championships. The competition will take place on Friday, October 4, kicking off a weekend of BMX events here at Cary’s action sports facility, including the Pan American Continental Championships (open to athletes from North and South America) on Saturday, October 5 and the Cary BMX Freestyle Competition (open to elite international athletes) on Sunday, October 6. The rain date for any of these events is Monday, October 7.

The events will provide spectators and fans with a preview of the top BMX athletes who will be representing the U.S. at next year’s Olympic Games, as well as many other international riders hoping to represent their countries at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Cary Action Sports

The Town of Cary's action sports venue is open to the public year-round. All ages and skill levels are permitted on the course with a valid waiver. Skateboards, inline and quad skates, and non-folding scooters participate during SK8 sessions. Riders on any type of bicycle without training wheels are permitted in BMX sessions. You won't find a workout quite like being in an action sports park! We also offer special programs held on the ramps such as RC Cars and Parkour. Sk8-Cary is staffed and has a pro shop for your equipment needs.
