Enjoy Free Play at Cary Multi-Purpose Artificial Turf Fields

Thomas Brooks Turf field

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cary playgrounds are closed until further notice. Parks, greenways, athletic fields, and courts remain open. Visitors are required to practice social distancing and maintain separation of six feet from other visitors to the park. Learn more.

 Fields at Middle Creek Park and Thomas Brooks Park will be available for open play activities at select times through March 31. After the sun goes down, the field lights will be turned on so the general public can enjoy these facilities.

Free Play Hours at Middle Creek Park Field 1 or 2 (Turf Fields)

Field lights will be turned on during these times:

Field 1: Mondays from 9:15-11 p.m. 

Field 2: Wednesdays from 9:15-11 p.m. and Sundays from 7:30-9:30 p.m.  

Free Play Hours at Thomas Brooks Park Field 1 and 2 (Turf Fields)

Field lights will be turned on during these times:

Mondays

Thomas Brooks Field 1: 9:30-11 p.m.

Thomas Brooks Field 2: 9:15-11 p.m.

Wednesdays

Thomas Brooks Field 1: 9:15-11 p.m.

Thomas Brooks Field 2: 9:15-11 p.m.

Sundays

Thomas Brooks Field 2: 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Free Play Hours at White Oak Park Field

White Oak Park Field will not be available for free play in August, September, and October, Monday through Friday, from 4:30 p.m. to dusk due to scheduled programming.

Free Play Hours at Mills Park Elementary School Field 3

Monday-Friday from 6 p.m. until dusk and Saturdays and Sundays from dawn to dusk. 

Teams and organized groups are required to rent space. Times for free, open play are adjusted seasonally according to field availability and demand.
