Show/Hide

Cary is currently under a Stay-at-Home order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most public-facing and staffed facilities are closed to the public, including Town Hall. All playgrounds are closed but greenways, parks, and park restrooms remain open at this time. Some services have been canceled or are limited. Learn more.

Bring your carved pumpkin from 4-5:30 p.m. and join us for Bond Park's Pumpkin Flotilla! Pumpkins will set sail across the Bond Park Lake at twilight (approximately 6:30 p.m.). Enjoy a discounted boat ride (available to those who enter a pumpkin or dress in appropriate Halloween costumes) and a snack from our concession stand while you wait to watch your pumpkin float on the lake.

On-site registration only on day of event at 4 p.m. onward.

Music: 5-6:30 p.m.

Pumpkin Flotilla Guidelines

  • Get a pumpkin: Bring a pumpkin, approximately the size of a soccer ball, that weighs about 8 pounds after it’s carved. Mini or extra-large pumpkins cannot be accepted for the flotilla.
  • Get creative: Pumpkins will be attached through the base. All pumpkins must come with tops (lids) and be gutted and carved at home. Jack-o’-lanterns with artificial decorations, such as paint, glitter, marker, food dye, paper, plastic, light bulbs, candles, or floats cannot be accepted for the flotilla. A light and floating device will be provided when you register your jack-o’-lantern at the event.
  • Drop off your pumpkin: The designated drop-off area is near the Boathouse between 4 pm and 5:30 pm. Space in the flotilla is limited to 60 pumpkins, so make sure your creation meets all the requirements.

Watch Bond Lake get spooky at twilight (about 6:30 pm). Find a spot along the edge of the lake and watch as the jack-o’-lanterns float by in Cary's only pumpkin flotilla.
