September is Fit Cary Month and we are celebrating VIRTUALLY all the ways to get, be, and stay healthy in Cary! Join us for free activities all month long designed to help you and your family develop and maintain a healthy and enriched lifestyle. #fitcarymonth
FitCary Virtual 5K Event!
Join in the fun with the FitCary Virtual 5K Run/Walk. This free event is open to all ages. Stay active by running or walking your favorite Cary Greenways. Participate in various suggested routes or create your own course anywhere. Upload your time to be added to the virtual leader board. Free swag bags available for the first 300 registrants. Free Fitness and Wellness Classes
Free opportunities the whole family will enjoy. Register in advance to receive the Program Link for the class. Participants will not be on camera, but will be able to watch, follow along and ask questions at the end of the class. (*Links for WebEx classes to registered participants will be emailed prior to each scheduled class)
- CALM YOUR MIND MEDITATION Tuesday Sep 8 6-7 p.m.
Meditation is movement to peace and serenity. Guided meditation concentrates on balancing chakra energy, centering the heart and simple stilling of the mind.
- YOU CAN DO IT Friday Sep 11 10-11 a.m.
Have fun and increase your cardiovascular endurance. We will keep you moving for 25 minutes, the remainder of the class will focus on stability, strength and/or flexibility. Great for all ages.
- ACTIVE FUN FOR KIDS Monday Sep 14 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Get the family moving with this fun-filled class of games, creativity and yoga. Kids (and parents) will love all the movement as they jump, kick, dance, stretch and tumble their way to being healthy!
- BALANCE YOUR ENERGETIC BODY Monday Sep 21 6-7 p.m.
Feel your tension melt away as you are guided through various slow-paced stretches that relax your ligaments, tendons and fascia. Then enjoy the crystal music of "sound bath" bowls to invite energetic balance, relaxation, healing, and deep rest. Great for the whole family!
- GRIDLOCK FITNESS Monday Sep 28 6-7 p.m.
An invigorating workout that incorporates power, footwork, speed, plyometric, and body resistance, using an agility grid. A perfect workout for teens participating in a sport as well as those who just want a little more power, balance, and speed in their life.
Family Fun Fitness Challenge
Celebrate FitCary Month with a Family Fun Fitness Challenge! Register by September 23 to get your FREE Family Fitness Challenge Box of game supplies and instructions. No contact pick up date will be September 25 and instructions will be emailed to registered families. Inside your Family Fun Challenge Box will be supplies to play Family Active Bingo, Family Minute to Win It Challenges, and other fun family games along with some FitCary Swag! *One per family / Supplies are Limited.

September Virtual BioBlitz for Pollinators
Participate in the Virtual Parks for Pollinators campaign with the Town of Cary! Throughout the month of September, visit your local park and record all the pollinators you can find through the iNaturalist App.
The Parks for Pollinators campaign, hosted through a partnership between the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation, aims to raise public awareness of the pollinator crisis and encourage local action through public parks and recreation. NRPA and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation believe parks play a key role in protecting and preserving pollinators and their habitats. Together, as part of the Scotts Miracle-Gro’s "GroMoreGood" initiative, they are working to educate more children, families and communities about the importance of pollinators and what people can do to help.
