Cary is currently under a Stay-at-Home order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most public-facing and staffed facilities are closed to the public, including Town Hall. All playgrounds are closed but greenways, parks, and park restrooms remain open at this time. Some services have been canceled or are limited. Learn more.

In December 2012, the Town of Cary was awarded a competitive technical assistance grant through the Creating Sustainable Neighborhoods Technical Assistance Grant Program. This program, part of the Environmental Protection Agency's Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program, allowed Town staff to work with technical experts from Raimi and Associates, the US Green Building Council, and Global Green USA to identify opportunities to create a vibrant, sustainable community in downtown Cary.

The team used the LEED Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) standard as an evaluation tool. View the final report.
