March 26-30, 2020: Park restrooms and street lights will be without power temporarily due to construction.  Restrooms will remain open during this time.

Project Background

Thomas Brooks Park, located at 9008 Green Level Church Road, has athletic fields, a playground, and trails on 224 acres.

The existing athletic complex, constructed in 2000, is experiencing issues with drainage. Depending on the soil and seasonal conditions, the field can take a long time to dry after rain, causing safety concerns that require closure. In addition, the walking trail around the field was closed in 2017 due to a slope failure.

This project will facilitate improvements to the drainage system around the perimeter of the ball fields and parking area, as well as needed improvements to the walking trail.

Batting cages will also be renovated while this project is under construction. Batting cage renovation is expected to be completed in March 2020.
