Project Background

Thomas Brooks Park, located at 9008 Green Level Church Road, has athletic fields, a playground, and trails on 224 acres.

The existing athletic complex, constructed in 2000, is experiencing issues with drainage. Due to the soil conditions, at certain times of the year the soils take a long time to dry after rain, causing safety concerns that require the fields to be closed. In addition, the walking trail around the field was closed in 2017 due to a slope failure.

This project will facilitate improvements to the drainage system around the perimeter of the ballfields and parking area, as well as needed improvements to the walking trail.
