Covid-19: Status of Services and Utilities

Last updated October 29, 2020

Police and Fire

Police and fire services remain fully operational as essential services to the community, although stations are closed to the public. For emergencies, dial 911.

Trash and Recycling

Trash and recycling pickup continues, and special collections such as bulk pickup are available by request (with the exception of mattresses and box springs). Citizens residing in locations with backyard services will need to move their materials to the curb for collection. The Citizen’s Convenience Center is currently open and accepting residential solid waste, recycling, and yard waste. Visitors are asked to observe social distancing guidelines and safety when dropping off materials. Learn more.

Transit: GoCary

GoCary Fixed Route and Door to Door Tier 1 service is operating fare free on a daily basis, as an essential service. All transit riders are asked to wear a mask that covers their face and mouth, practice social distancing as much as possible, and to abstain from riding if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Utilities

The Town has suspended disconnection for nonpayment and is not currently assessing late fees. If you need a payment plan to manage your utility charges, please call 311 or (919) 469-4000. Utility customers are encouraged to set up water usage alerts and to opt-in to paperless billing through your Aquastar and Digipay accounts. Learn more.
