Are you interested in conservation, working with others, and being a part of Cary's efforts to protect and preserve the environment? If so, then the Cary Green Neighborhood Program is for you!

The Cary Green Neighborhood Program offers a wide range of action-oriented projects for individuals and groups to make meaningful environmental impacts in their communities. As a continuation of the long-standing Block Leader Program, the Cary Green Neighborhood Program covers a variety of environmental topics so there's something for everyone. Projects can take place in neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, or anywhere you build community. Explore the project areas below to find the best project for you and your group.

Join Us

Block Leaders become ambassadors for sustainability in their neighborhoods and communities, and are a vital part of the Town's environmental efforts. They come from all walks of life, age groups, and backgrounds, and are united by the desire to preserve and improve the environment we all share.

Joining is simple! All you need to do is complete at least one Cary Green Neighborhood Program project per year. Explore the categories above for an environmental opportunity that looks interesting to you, and complete the Project Request Form. A staff person will contact you to fine-tune the details of your project and answer any additional questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.
