This project allows you to lead a compost workshop with your neighborhood or community group, demonstrating popular methods for composting at home and the basic science behind it. This project also requires you to participate in a one-time Train-the-Trainer session.

The Compost Workshop Kit includes:

  • One free home composting bin for a neighborhood common area or multifamily use
  • A lending library of educational material about composting for children and adults (four books)
  • One free bag of compost to use as a promotional door prize

Please refer to Town of Cary Compost Ordinance before selecting this project to ensure that this option is a good fit for your neighborhood. Also note that this project is only available to those who have attended a Compost Giveaway Workshop or have equivalent training/experience.

In order to lead a Compost Workshop with your neighborhood or community group, you will need to complete a Compost Train-the-Trainer session. There are two available opportunities to complete this session and they will both be held at Page-Walker Arts and History Center.

Scheduling your project

Please indicate three preferred dates for your group to participate in this project, ranked in order of preference. We will notify you via email to confirm the workshop date as well as a date to pick up the needed supplies.

Note that these dates cannot fall before the required Train-the-Trainer session you have selected above.
