Check Your Smoke Detector
The end of daylight saving time is a great opportunity to check your smoke detector batteries. Most fatal fires occur at night while victims are sleeping, and a working smoke alarm can double the chances of survival by increasing the amount of time a person has to escape a house fire. Follow the Cary Fire Department on Facebook.
Leaf Collection is Underway
Loose leaf collection for the season has begun. This year, Cary Collects is your digital resource instead of a mailed map and schedule. To view or print your pickup schedule, enter your address at townofcary.org/collects or download the Cary Collects app on the Google or Apple app stores. To ensure collection, place leaves along the curb by 7 a.m. the first day of your collection periods.
