Traffic Alert: Rolling Street Closures in Downtown Cary on Morning of Saturday, June 6

- To accommodate peaceful demonstrations in Downtown Cary on the morning of Saturday, June 6, rolling closures will affect the full length of Academy Street, as well as portions of E. Chatham St. and the intersection of Kildaire Farm Rd. and Walnut St.
- The closures are expected to affect portions of Academy Street for no more than several minutes at a time, beginning with the section from Dry St. to Chatham St. around 10 a.m., when the group will begin walking from the fountain at Downtown Cary Park towards Town Hall.
- Drivers are asked to exercise caution in the Downtown Cary area beginning at 9 a.m., and to expect heavier-than-usual pedestrian presence due to the demonstrations, particularly in the areas immediately surrounding Downtown Cary Park, the Cary Theater, the U.S. Post Office, and Cary Town Hall. Cary Police will be present to direct traffic around the affected areas.
