Cary, NC – Town of Cary Council Member Jennifer Robinson has been chosen to lead the North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM) as its President for the next year. A member of the NCLM since 2013, Robinson is currently a member of the organization’s Governing Board and Executive Committee, and has also served on the General Government Legislative Action Committee (2014–2015), as Strategic Plan Committee Chair (2014–2015), and as the First Vice President. This will be her first term as the league’s President.

Robinson replaces outgoing president William Pitt, Council Member for the City of Washington, N.C. and will serve as the head of the Board of Directors composed of community leaders and public servants representing over 30 municipalities across all of North Carolina. “The League brings over 540 municipalities together to address the challenges that we face,” said Robinson. “We share best practices and advocate for the wellbeing of people who live in our cities and towns.” She also serves as Director of Local Government Solutions at SAS in Cary, with a focus on using analytics to increase efficiency and productivity for municipalities and counties of all sizes.

Robinson’s qualities of leadership and citizen activism have spanned her entire 25 years as a Town resident. Her initial involvements in local land use matters and grassroots efforts surrounding construction and improvement projects led to her appointment to the Town’s Growth Management Task Force in 1998, followed by an appointment to the Cary Town Council soon after in 1999. Robinson has spearheaded many policies, laws, and initiatives that have all made a positive impact on urban design, land use planning, amenities and services, and the community as a whole.
