Cary, NC – In observance of Memorial Day, Cary services will be unavailable on Monday, May 25. Parks will remain open, but all Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources facilities will continue to remain closed, as they have throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s Memorial Day Remembrance event at Veterans Freedom Park has also been canceled.

Curbside trash, recycling and yard waste collection for the week moves one day later, and the Citizen’s Convenience Center will be closed on May 25. Cary citizens firing up the grill or deep fryer at home are reminded to do so safely by properly disposing of any cooking fats, oils and grease (FOG) in the trash, and not your sink. While curbside FOG collection for biodiesel is currently unavailable, citizens may consider taking liquid cooking oil to the nearest Wake County multi-material drop-off location for recycling.
