Town Services Pause for Christmas, New Year’s Holidays

  • Cary Town Hall and most staffed facilities will be closed for the holidays on Dec. 24, 25, 26, and Jan. 1. Some sports and arts facilities will have limited hours during this time.
  • Curbside collections for Wednesday and Thursday will move one day to Thursday and Friday during Christmas and New Year’s weeks. Monday and Tuesday collections will be unaffected. Our Citizen’s Convenience Center will close at noon on Dec. 24 and will be closed on Dec., and will close again at noon on December 31 and will be closed on January 1.
  • GoCary will have no departures after 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Door-to-door will be limited to Tier 1 only. There will be no service on Christmas Day. On New Year’s Day, GoCary fixed routes operate on a Sunday schedule, with Tier 1 only Door-to-Door rides. 

Cary, NC – Cary services will pause briefly the weeks of Christmas and New Years as 2019 draws to a close. Town Hall and most staffed facilities will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, and 26, and again on Jan. 1. 

Cary Tennis Park is open regular hours on December 20 and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The park will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and operate from 12-6 on Dec. 26. It will be open 8-4 on Dec. 31 and noon to 6 p.m. on Jan. 2. 

Sk8-Cary will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Other days the facility will be open from noon to 10 p.m.

The Cary Theater is closed Dec. 24-26 and will resume regular hours on Dec. 27. 

Community and arts centers will close on Monday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. and will reopen for normal hours on Dec. 27. These facilities will also close at 5 p.m. Dec. 31, resuming normal hours on Jan. 2.

The Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Amphitheatre runs Tuesdays-Sundays throughout the holidays until January 12. Though normally closed on Mondays, the festival will be open Dec. 23 and 30.
