BMX Freestyle Weekend Rides into Cary October 4-6

  • Cary has been selected by USA Cycling to host the 2019 USA Cycling BMX Freestyle National Championships, kicking off a weekend of BMX events at Sk8-Cary October 4-6.
  • Events also include the Pan American Continental Championships on Saturday, October 5 and the Cary BMX Freestyle Competition on Sunday, October 7.
  • The events will provide spectators and fans with a preview of the top BMX athletes who will be representing the U.S. at next year’s Olympic Games, as well as many other international riders hoping to represent their countries at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Cary, NC – Cary has been selected by USA Cycling to host the 2019 USA Cycling BMX Freestyle National Championships, kicking off a weekend of BMX events at Sk8-Cary October 4-6. This will be the first ever BMX National Championships in the United States where men and women BMX athletes compete to earn points towards representing the USA in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

On Saturday, October 5 experience the first Pan American Continental BMX Freestyle Championships in the United States where BMX athletes from North and South America will compete to earn points toward a spot in the 2020 Olympics. And on Sunday, October 6 BMX athletes from around the world compete to earn points towards their chance to compete in the Olympics at the Cary BMX Freestyle Competition.

The events will provide spectators and fans with a preview of the top BMX athletes who will be representing the U.S. at next year’s Olympic Games, as well as many other international riders hoping to represent their countries at the Tokyo 2020 Games, the first time in history that BMX Freestyle will be featured in the Olympics.

In the event of adverse weather, these events will be rescheduled for Monday, October 7.

The Town of Cary's action sports venue is open to the public year-round. All ages and skill levels are permitted on the course with a valid waiver. Skateboards, inline and quad skates, non-folding scooters and any type of bicycle without training wheels are permitted during the park’s public hours.
