The Cary Theater is Accepting Applications for Programming Advisory Committee

CARY, N.C. (May 22, 2019) – The Cary Theater is currently accepting applications for new members of its Programming Advisory Committee. This volunteer committee works with staff to provide input on types of events held at The Cary Theater, including development of community celebrations, film selections, events and film festivals. The Programming Advisory Committee also recommends policies regarding theater programs and helps promote cooperative partnerships between The Cary Theater and the community. Available positions are at-large members appointed by an application process.

“The Programming Advisory Committee helps further The Cary’s link between the theater and the community,” said Joy Ennis, Operations & Program Supervisor. “Each committee member helps us to advance The Cary’s mission of providing a unique setting for art house cinema and live performances that create a community centered gathering place in Downtown Cary.”

About The Cary Theater

The Cary Theater, located at 122 E. Chatham St. in downtown Cary, lights up downtown with its mission to provide a unique setting for the community to experience art house cinema and live performances that enhance the cultural arts experience in the Town of Cary. Originally constructed in 1946 to serve as the Town’s first indoor movie theater, The Cary was meticulously restored in 2014 to create a vibrant space downtown that offers independent film, live performance comedy and improv, the Six String Presents music series as well as other live events.
