Traffic Alert – Old Apex Road to Close Between High House Road and West Chatham Street Roundabout
- Old Apex Road between High House Road and West Chatham Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 13 through Tuesday, May 14.
- A detour will be posted encouraging drivers to use High House Road and West Chatham Street. Local traffic will be maintained.
- This closure is necessary for contractors working for the Town to repair and improve the CSX railroad crossing that was completed by CSX in January 2018.
CARY, NC – Old Apex Road will be closed between High House Road and the West Chatham Street Roundabout beginning 6 a.m. on Monday, May 13 as contractors working for the Town of Cary upgrade the asphalt adjacent to the CSX railroad crossing on Old Apex Road. A detour will be posted encouraging drivers to use High House Road and West Chatham Street. Local traffic will be maintained. The work and closure are expected to be in place for two days to safely complete the work, weather and rail scheduled depending.
This work is needed to improve asphalt quality at the crossing which was originally maintained by CSX in the winter of 2017. Crews will also be installing new pavement markings and repairing low shoulders.
