Cary’s Summer 2019 Program Guide Now Available
- The Town of Cary’s Summer 2019 program guide is available online and at Cary Town Hall, Town community centers, libraries in Cary and the Cary Chamber of Commerce.
- New programming includes Chinese calligraphy, Bollywood dance, ukukele and guitar instruction for young beginners, cultural culinary for teens, boot camp for adults, prenatal and postnatal yoga, Sk8-Cary wakeboarding day trips, and specialty camps focused on chess, writing, storytelling, and science.
- Registration opens for residents May 6 and May 20 for non-residents.
Cary, NC – Get your copy of the Town of Cary’s Summer 2019 Program Guide and start planning a summer full of arts, entertainment, recreation, special events and a multitude of celebrations! Find the Town’s Program Guide at public libraries in Cary, the Cary Chamber of Commerce and any Town-staffed facility, including community centers and Town Hall; it is also available online through the Town’s website at www.townofcary.org/programs. Registration opens May 6 for Cary residents and May 20 for all others.
Summer class offerings for all ages and interests are available in arts, culinary, nature education, outdoor recreation, sports, specialized recreation and more. New programs include Chinese calligraphy, Bollywood dance, ukukele and guitar instruction for young beginners, cultural culinary for teens, boot camp for adults, prenatal and postnatal yoga, Sk8-Cary wakeboarding day trips, and specialty camps focused on chess, writing, storytelling, and science. And, as always, look for your favorite sports including volleyball, basketball, tennis, skateboarding, and BMX. Fees vary based on type and duration of program.
Favorite annual events including National Trails Day, Yoga Day, Independence Day Celebration, the Pimento Cheese Festival, and the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival return this summer with some new twists. Catch the action of summer sporting events including men’s and women’s professional soccer tournaments at WakeMed Soccer Park, The Cary Open NCL3 at the Cary Tennis Park, and the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Music fills the air this season with these concert series: Bands, Bites & Boats, Cary LIVE, Park after Dark, plus the Starlight and Summer Sertoma series. Join us for Cary’s first-ever Juneteenth event, celebrating the commemoration of the end of slavery.
In keeping with the Town of Cary’s philosophy to ensure that all citizens receive equal opportunity to participate in recreation, the Town of Cary provides the opportunity for Cary residents to apply for scholarships and/or reduction of fees for parks, recreation & cultural arts programming. The Play it Forward Scholarship Fund is administered through Dorcas Ministries; citizens may print an application form at www.townofcary.org/scholarships and continue the application process with Dorcas Ministries by calling (919) 469-9861.
