Help Cary PD Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

  • The suspect is believed to be a black male between the ages of 30-35 with a stocky build and facial hair.

Cary, NC – The Cary Police Department is asking the public for help identifying the person believed to have committed an armed robbery in Cary on April 6. At approximately 8:38 a.m., a man entered the Valero gas station and convenience store at 1350 Old Apex Road and went behind the counter, brandished a weapon and took money and cigarettes. No injuries were reported. Upon his arrest, he will be charged with armed robbery, a Class D felony punishable by up to 204 months in prison.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 to 35 years of age, with a dark complexion, stocky build and facial hair. He was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black Adidas sneakers with white stripes and purple latex gloves. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Det. Lillian Hamlin at (919) 462-3810 or file a report anonymously with Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 460-4636. Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,500 for the arrest or indictment of those responsible for committing certain types of crimes. All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at the caller's request.
