About the Sister Cities Association of Cary

Founded in 1988, the Sister Cities of Cary Association works with the Town to celebrate locally and connect internationally with different countries and cultures. This group of citizens reaches beyond our official Sister Cities for cultural and educational exchanges, economic development and opportunities like this baseball exhibition.

About the Lithuanian National Team

In 2017, Lithuania won the European Qualifier against Russia, then lost to Austria in a 2018 playoff to qualify for the European Championships. The US travel squad, which includes 16 candidates for the Junior and Senior National Team, is preparing for the European Championships which begin in Slovakia this summer (European Championship Qualifier July 1-7). The team is coached by Virmidas Neverauskas, the father of the first-ever Lithuanian-born player to play in the Major Leagues (Dovydas Neverauskas - Pittsburgh Pirates), and Will Gordon, Durham native and Central NC MSBL veteran.
