Friday, March 15

Music@The Cary: Six String Presents: Jonathan Byrd and The Pickup Cowboys
The Cary Theater, 8 p.m.
Jonathan Byrd is a preacher’s son, a Gulf War veteran, and an award-winning songwriter from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, known for literary, outsider songs that have become Americana favorites. The Chicago Tribune called Byrd “one of the top 50 songwriters of the past 50 years.” Tickets can be purchased online, by calling (800) 514-3849, in person at the Cary Box Office located at The Cary Theater (122 E. Saturday, March 16

Cary Downtown Farmers Market
Ivey-Ellington House, 9 a.m.- Noon
Join us this Saturday for fresh produce and local goods at the CDFM limited Winter Market!  Shop from a finite group of farmers, food vendors and artisans for unique handmade gifts and weekly groceries. The CDFM is the community's trusted source for local goods all year round.   

Kite Festival
Bond Park, 12:30 p.m.
For kids of all ages, Bond Park's Annual Kite Festival is a great way to spend the afternoon. Participate in a free kite flying contest and you'll be eligible for certificates and special awards in a variety of kite flying categories intended for all ages and experience levels. The Kite Festival is free and open to the public. Participation in the contest isn't necessary. There will be an expert kite flyer on hand to provide kite flying tips and assist with mending kites that need a little help. Enjoy music, concessions and kite flying fun.

Arbor Day
Downtown Park, 1-3 p.m.
A tree dedication ceremony opens the event, after which guests can enjoy free tree-themed crafts for kids, education, and entertainment. The event is free with local food and drink available for purchase. While supplies last, attendees can pick up a free tree to plant at home and enjoy time for Q&A with our certified arborist including tips for proper planting.

Tobacco Road Marathon
USA Baseball National Training Complex, 7 a.m., Spectators FREE
2019 marks the 10th consecutive year Tobacco Road Marathon will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex, come cheer on the runners at the start/finish line.  Race begins at 7 a.m.  For more, visit Tobacco Road Marathon.
