Town of Cary’s Weekend Update

Post Date:01/30/2019 12:39 PM

Looking for something fun to do right here in Cary? Check out the following events this weekend; for more, view our calendar!

Friday, February 1

Artist's Reception - Jackie MacLeod: The Magic of Patinas
Bond Park Community Center, 6-8 p.m. | FREE
A patina is a thin layer of color that develops on metal after it is exposed to heat, air, and/or acids over time. MacLeod uses copper, brass, tin, and steel and explores a variety of old and new techniques to emulate that exposure. What would you rather be: the shiny new unblemished metal or the tarnished and beautifully aged one with character? For more, call (919) 462-3970.

Cary Players presents Men Always Leave
The Cary Theater, 7:30 p.m.
Local playwright and director Naima Ince-Griffiths’ one-act drama tells the heart-warming story of a woman who must face the pains of the past to move beyond a life on hold and secure a positive future for her and her son. For more, (919) 462-2055 or www.caryplayers.org.
