CARY, NC – With new left turn lanes set to open December 13, the Town of Cary is putting a bow on intersection improvements at Cary Parkway and High House Road just in time for Christmas. To open the newly constructed left turn lanes, the traffic signal at the intersection of Cary Parkway and High House Road will be taken out of operation from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. December 13, weather permitting. Cary Police will direct traffic. To ensure safety, lanes may be intermittently closed during this time. Drivers traveling through the area may experience minor delays and should use caution.

Most of the intersection improvements to the street have been completed. In addition to new dual left turn lanes at three approaches, intersection improvements, which began in April, included new dedicated right turn lanes and new sidewalks.

“We are excited to open these new lanes as all of these improvements will reduce travel delays and increase mobility at the intersection before the holiday season,” said Amir Nezarati, project manager.

Town crews will also be adding a unique bus shelter, decorative traffic signals, stamped brick crosswalks, permanent pavement markings and signage, and landscaping through early next year, weather permitting. There will be no lane closures allowed from 7 a.m. December 21 to 9:30 a.m. January 2.
