Cary Players presents “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol” "NR"
Cary Arts Center, 7:30 p.m.
Although director Randy Jordan will give audiences a taste of the Charles Dickens’ classic, this radio-play-within-a-play is more about the juxtaposition of Christmastime and wartime in the 1940s and how a ragtag hole-in-the-wall troupe of radio actors deal with both extremes. Based on the book by Walton Jones with music and lyrics by David Wohl and Faye Greenburg.

Opening Art Exhibitions at the Cary Arts Center

The Cary Photographic Artists Members Show will feature photography pieces by participating group members and will be showcased in the CAC gallery room. In the Principal's Hall space, Everything is a Rendition: Drawings Paintings Photographs will be on view and features a range of works from members of the Cary Photographic Artists and Fine Arts League of Cary. Chinese Lantern Festival

2018/2019 CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL: NOVEMBER 23, 2018-JANUARY 13, 2019.

Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre will once again be transformed into a magnificent setting when the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival returns this holiday season! The festival starts on November 23 and will run through January 13. Visit Koka Booth Events to purchase date-specific tickets, and visit Chinese Lantern Festival for more information on the event.

Santa’s Workshop
Herbert C. Young Community Center, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Children ages 10 and under (with caregiver) can enjoy a variety of craft stations and  a visit with the white bearded guy from the North Pole! While at Santa's Workshop, you can support the Cary Teen Council's food drive by sending each child with two non-perishable food items or a cash donation. All proceeds will be donated to charity. Page-Walker Holiday Open House "NR"

Get into the holiday spirit with some old-fashioned Christmas fun at the Page-Walker's Holiday Open House. Enjoy carriage rides, Victorian carolers, warm cider and cookies provided by the Garden Club of Cary, the Triangle Folk Ensemble, and kid's crafts! Cary's Christmas Tree Lighting "NR"
Town Hall Campus, 6 p.m.
Welcome in the holiday season with the official Christmas tree lighting for the Town of Cary. This festive night features actors, singers and musicians from the community. We'll also unveil the Cary Community Christmas Tree inside Town Hall. Over 125 community groups provide handcrafted ornaments to be displayed on the inside tree -- a true representation of the diversity of Cary.

8th Annual Gingerbread House Competition "NR"
Downtown Cary, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Create a gingerbread house yummy enough for an elf's visit! The houses will be on display in Downtown Cary on December 1. Winning houses will be on display during December at the Cary Arts Center.  Entry forms are due by November 20: competed gingerbread houses are due on November 30. 

7th Annual Gifting Tree Project Presented by The Mayton Inn "NR"
Downtown Cary
You are invited to participate in a Christmas Tree Decorating Contest in Downtown Cary with a charitable twist! Represent your family, school, or other organization as we line the streets of Downtown Cary with lighted trees. The public is invited to vote and the winning tree will have a donation (provided by The Mayton Inn) to the nonprofit group of their choice.
