Friday, November 23

Music@The Cary: The Ultimate Johnny Cash Show Tribute
The Cary Theater, 8 p.m.
This show will feature the ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute Band, The Johnny Folsom 4 as the house band both nights. Each night will include special musical guests singing some of the songs featured on the original Johnny Cash Show. Tickets can be purchased online, by calling (800) 514-3849, in person at the Cary Box Office located at The Cary Theater (122 E. Chatham St.) or one hour prior to each show. Chinese Lantern Festival
Koka Booth Amphitheater, 6 - 10 p.m.
2018/2019 CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL: NOVEMBER 23, 2018-JANUARY 13, 2019.

Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre will once again be transformed into a magnificent setting when the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival returns this holiday season! The festival starts on November 23 and will run through January 13. Visit Koka Booth Events to purchase date-specific tickets, and visit Chinese Lantern Festival for more information on the event. 

 

Saturday, November 24

Downtown Urban Open (DUO) Tournament: Youth Clinic & Exhibition
Herbert Young Community Center (Gym Entrance), 9 a.m.
The Youth Clinic and Exhibition is for youth ages 5-12 and will teach the fundamentals of disc golf and gives them a chance to play the temporary course. Clinic begins at 9 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., clinic participants will get the chance to play on a DUO course set up on Town Hall campus (family members are welcome during course play). Parents or a chaperone are recommended for younger participants. Those who pre-register will receive a beginner disc and mini-disc marker. Come dressed ready for fall weather, and feel free to bring your own discs if you have them! Clinic fee: $20 per participant. Register online with course code 116968. Downtown Urban Open (DUO) Tournament: Bring Your Own Partner Doubles Tournament
Town Hall Campus, noon
Registration is from noon-1 p.m. at Herbert C. Young Community Center. Fee is $10 plus $5 for 50/50 Ace Pool which benefits the Town of Cary's Play It Forward Scholarship Program. Spectators welcome! Normal golf etiquette rules apply for spectators.

Downtown Urban Open (DUO) Tournament - SOLD OUT
Town Hall Campus, 9 a.m.
The Town of Cary and Capital Area Disc League (CADL) invite you to the 2018 Annual Downtown Urban Open Disc Golf Tournament & Youth Exhibition (held Saturday, November 24). This is not your ordinary disc golf course! Play on a temporary course around the buildings and structures of Town Hall Campus, located in Downtown Cary. Holes play in, through, and off a parking deck, as well as around the Herbert C. Young Community Center and police station.  This event is sold out, but spectators are welcome!  For more, search "DUO" at www.townofcary.org.

Wagner’s Ring cycle is one of the greatest works of all opera. Keith Warner’s production is conducted by Antonio Pappano, Music Director of The Royal Opera, and this final revival is cast with an outstanding international array of Wagnerian specialist singers. Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) is the second opera in the cycle, and features several of the Ring’s musical highlights – the sparkling Magic Fire Music and the electrifying Ride of the Valkyries.
