Cary, NC – With the exception of Sk8 Cary and Cary Tennis Park, Town of Cary staffed facilities, including Cary Town Hall and all community centers, will be closed on Monday, November 12, 2018 in observance of Veterans Day. Sk8 Cary will be open from noon-8 p.m. on both Sunday and Monday. Cary Tennis Park is operating on normal hours. The Cary Theater is open on Sunday, November 11 but will be closed on Monday.

Curbside collection for the week of November 12 will move one day later through Friday, November 16. The Citizen’s Convenience Center will be open on Monday, November 12 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. GoCary is operating on a regular schedule.

On Sunday, November 11 from 3-4 p.m., the Town of Cary invites the public to an observance at the Veterans Freedom Park, 1513 N. Harrison Ave., to honor veterans of all wars and conflicts. The event will include speakers, patriotic music, a Field of Flags and Cary’s Special Forces, toy soldiers that citizens can write a soldier's name on and place in the memorial to honor all of those who have served in the armed forces. These soldiers will be saved and placed in the monument every Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

There will be a handicap accessible shuttle running from Cary Academy's parking lot to the event at Veterans Freedom Park. There will also be a police-provided crosswalk available to those who wish to walk from the parking lot instead of taking the shuttle.
