Traffic Alert - Trucks Delivering Construction Materials Downtown

  • Beginning November 5, South Walker Street between East Park Street and Walnut Street will close periodically to accommodate the delivery of construction materials to the Cary Regional Library and Parking Deck project site.
  • Deliveries will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for up to four months.
  • Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes, including East Park Street and South Academy Street, during this time.

Cary, NC – Weather permitting, beginning November 5, South Walker Street between East Park Street and Walnut Street will close periodically weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for up to four months. The periodic closures will allow as many as 12 trucks per day to deliver steel and other construction materials necessary for completion of the Cary Regional Library and associated parking deck at the corner of Walnut Street and Kildaire Farm Road.

Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes, including East Park Street and South Academy Street, during this time. Drivers traveling along South Walker Street should use caution and follow the direction of onsite flaggers.
