Friday, September 7


Bands, Bites & Boats
Bond Park Boathouse, 5-7 p.m.
Join us at the Bond Park Boathouse for live music, delicious food trucks, local beer and evening boat rentals.  Get your friends and family together and enjoy an evening by the lake. Cary Town Band presents “Sticks and Stones” 
Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park, 6:30 p.m. | Free
Beginning at 6:30, Former WRAL anchor Bill Leslie will perform on the stage that bears his name following a dedication ceremony at Sertoma Amphitheatre. Then, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sticks and Stones may break your bones, but music will never hurt you. In fact, music can soothe and ease you. Listen to the refreshing refrains of Sousa’s “Northern Pines” (tall sticks) or Strauss’ “Tales From the Vienna Woods” (lots of sticks). Free your spirit with the sounds of precious stones like Mancini’s “Pink Panther” (a very large diamond) and R. B. Hall’s Georgia “Jade” (a rag). Ann Erickson: Text Messages, Artist's Reception
Bond Park Community Center, 6 - 8 p.m.
