Cary, NC – Some Town of Cary services and operations will change next week due to the observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 3. Cary Town Hall and offices, including community centers and most staffed recreation and cultural arts facilities, will be closed Monday. Curbside trash/recycling collection will be one day later for all customers this week. GoCary fixed routes will be operating on a Sunday level schedule from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tier I service only for Door-to-Door. GoTriangle Route 300 will not be running on Labor Day.

The Bond Park Boathouse will be open normal hours on Labor Day while Sk8-Cary (noon-10 p.m.) and the Cary Tennis Park (8 a.m.-6 p.m.) will operate on limited hours. Cary dog parks and the sprayground at Jack Smith Park will be open regular hours, but please remember, the sprayground closes for the season on September 16.

A reminder to all who plan to celebrate at home by firing up a grill or a deep fryer – please do it safely. Properly dispose of any cooking fats, oils and grease by taking advantage of Cary’s FOG Control program. The program gives Cary citizens an opportunity to properly dispose of those byproducts of home cooking by requesting a special collection. Simply place cooled, used cooking oil and grease in a plastic screw-top container and once at least half-gallon (approximately one, 2-liter soda bottle) is collected, label the container “Used Cooking Oil” and call (919) 469-4090 to schedule a free curbside pickup.
