Lane Closure along Walnut Street Needed for Cary Regional Library Project

  • Weather permitting, the Town of Cary will reduce Walnut Street between Kildaire Farm Road and South Walker Street to two lanes beginning August 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for two weeks.
  • Work will be conducted in the eastbound lane of Walnut Street; traffic will be shifted to the center lane but both directions of Walnut Street will remain accessible.
  • This closure will allow for work associated with the construction of the new Cary Regional Library and parking deck.

Cary, NC – Weather permitting, the Town of Cary will reduce Walnut Street between Kildaire Farm Road and South Walker Street to two lanes beginning August 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday for approximately two weeks. Work will be conducted in the eastbound lane of Walnut Street; traffic will be shifted to the center lane but both directions of Walnut Street will remain accessible. Drivers traveling through the area should use caution and follow the direction of posted signs.

Later this month, work will move to westbound Walnut Street between Kildaire Farm Road and South Walker Street. These closures will allow for work associated with the construction of the new Cary Regional Library and parking deck at the corner of Kildaire Farm Road and Walnut Street.
