North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival will light the night at Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre this holiday season.

  • The region’s most beautiful lantern display will return for a fourth year to Booth Amphitheatre.
  • Event will run seven weeks from November 23 to January 13 and feature all new displays.

Cary, NC—In what has become a holiday tradition, Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre will once again be transformed into a magnificent setting when the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival returns this holiday season for a fourth year. Tickets will go on sale August 3 at noon for the seven-week event, which runs from November 23, 2018-January 13, 2019.

Chinese artisans are already hard at work crafting more than 20 all new displays, each one comprised of hundreds of parts, and thousands of LED lights. The spectacular Chinese Dragon will reign supreme on Symphony Lake to mesmerize visitors big and small. These larger than life lanterns promise to wow visitors with their amazing craftsmanship, cultural significance and artistic beauty. Cultural arts performances will again be featured each night on the main stage.

"It’s almost impossible to think about the winter months at Booth Amphitheatre without the beauty of the NC Chinese Lantern Festival. Every year seems to surpass the previous one as far as size and detail of the displays. We feel so fortunate to continue this tradition and bring delight and wonder to thousands of visitors”, said Doug McRainey, Town of Cary’s Director of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources.
