Traffic Alert - Cary Parkway/High House Road
- Weather permitting, contractors working on behalf of the Town of Cary will begin construction at the intersection of Cary Parkway and High House Road April 16.
- Intersection improvements include the construction of dual left turn lanes, dedicated right turn lanes, a bus shelter, sidewalks, decorative traffic signals and stamped brick crosswalks.
- All businesses near the intersection will be open and accessible during the project.
Cary, NC – Weather permitting, contractors working on behalf of the Town of Cary will begin construction at the intersection of Cary Parkway and High House Road on April 16. Citizens can anticipate daytime lane closures from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; nighttime lane closures from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday; and lane closures all day Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday. The intersection could also close for no more than 15 minutes at a time between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for signal installation.
, throughout the project, one or more lanes of travel in each direction of Cary Parkway and High House Road near the intersection may be closed to safely facilitate the improvements. While lane closures will be implemented during construction, they will be in place outside of traditional commuting hours. All businesses near the intersection will be open and accessible during the project.
Improvements at Cary Parkway and High House Road include the construction of dual left turn lanes at three approaches and new dedicated right turn lanes at all approaches to help alleviate congestion. A unique bus shelter, new sidewalks, decorative traffic signals, stamped brick crosswalks and landscaping will also be added. During phase one, the new right turn lanes will be constructed.
