Cary’s Youth Theatre Seeks Actors and Technicians for Yo, Vikings!

Cary, N.C. – Young thespians and designers/technicians are invited to register for an audition or design team interview for Applause! Cary Youth Theatre’s production of “Yo, Vikings!” Auditions and interviews will be held at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave., from 5-9 p.m. Design team interviews are on March 21 and auditions on March 19-20. Auditions are open to ages 8-18. Design team interviews are open to ages 10-18. To schedule an appointment for auditions or design team interviews, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Pre-registration is required; no appointments will be made the day of and no walk-ins will be accepted.
Typically, 15-25 actors and eight to 10 design team members are selected. Actors will be asked to read from the script and learn/perform music and choreography. Design team applicants will be asked to discuss design ideas for the production. These events are relaxed, fun experiences for young performers and technical theatre students to imagine, create and collaborate. Parents will not be invited to watch auditions or interviews. All actors and participants on the youth design team for Applause! mainstage productions are selected from auditions and interviews. In addition, most of the youth volunteers for each production are those who were not selected for the cast or design team, but still want to be involved. Upcoming auditions and design team interviews will be held in September 2018 for Applause!’s fall production.
Applause! Cary Youth Theatre will present “Yo, Vikings!” on May 18-19 at 7:30 p.m. and May 20 at 3 p.m. at the Cary Arts Center.
