Revised Town of Cary Services, Operations for July 4

Curbside collection changes for Tuesday customers, No GoCary service

  • Cary Town Hall and offices are closed on Tuesday, July 4, along with most staffed recreation and cultural arts facilities; regular hours resume July 5.
  • GoCary Fixed Route and Door to Door services will not operate July 4.
  • Tuesday curbside trash/recycling collection will occur on Monday, all other collection days unaffected.

Cary, N.C. – A middle-of-the-week holiday is disrupting many Town of Cary services and operations. Cary Town Hall and offices, including most staffed recreation and cultural arts facilities, and community centers will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Go Cary Fixed Route and Door to Door services will not operate on July 4; riders with questions are encouraged to call (919) 485-RIDE (7433). Tuesday, July 4, solid waste/yard waste/ and recycling collections will be on Monday, July 3. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collections will remain unchanged. The Citizen’s Convenience Center, 313 N. Dixon Ave., will be open on July 4 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bond Park Boathouse and Booth Amphitheatre will be open and host the Town’s Independence Day Celebration festivities; citizens looking for holiday activities for all ages on both July 3-4, should visit the calendar at The Cary Tennis Park will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4, and Sk8-Cary will follow its normal operating hours of 3-10 p.m.

A reminder to all who plan to celebrate at home by firing up a grill or a deep fryer – please do it safely. Properly dispose of any cooking fats, oils, and grease by taking advantage of Cary’s FOG Control program. The program gives Cary citizens an opportunity to properly dispose of those byproducts of home cooking by requesting a special collection. Simply place cooled, used cooking oil and grease in a plastic screw-top container and once at least half-gallon (approximately one, 2-liter soda bottle) is collected, label the container “Used Cooking Oil” and call (919) 469-4090 to schedule a free curbside pickup.
