Jackie MacLeod: The Magic of Patinas

A patina is a thin layer of color that develops on metal after it is exposed to heat, air, and/or acids over time. MacLeod uses copper, brass, tin, and steel and explores a variety of old and new techniques to emulate that exposure. What would you rather be: the shiny new unblemished metal or the tarnished and beautifully aged one with character?

Exhibition runs through February 28. Artist's Reception is Friday, February 1, 6-8 p.m. For more, call (919) 462-3970.
