Title VI Notice

The Town of Cary's GoCary system hereby gives public notice of its policy to uphold and assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related acts and statutes. Title VI and related statutes prohibiting discrimination in Federally assisted programs require that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal assistance.

Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice regarding Town of Cary's GoCary system programs has a right to file a formal complaint with the Town of Cary's GoCary system. Any such complaint must be in writing and submitted to the Town of Cary's Title VI Compliance Officer within one hundred and eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged occurrence.

If you need an interpreter or if your hearing or speech is impaired:

We provide free interpreter services to help you conduct your transit business. These interpreter services are available whether you talk to us by phone or in the transit office. Call us at 919-481-2020, extension 3 and state the language you speak. The customer service representative will put you on hold and an interpreter will be contacted to help with your call. If your business cannot be completed by phone, we will make an appointment for you at the transit office and arrange for an interpreter via telephone or in person at the time of your visit.

If your hearing or speech is impaired and you use TTY (teletypewriter services), then you may call 711 or (800) 735-2962 and request connection to the GoCary information line, (919) 481-2020. You may also click on the complaint form below and follow the instructions provided on the form.

El Sistema de Transporte GoCary de la ciudad de Cary a través de la presente anuncia  públicamente de su política de mantener y asegurar el pleno cumplimiento del Título VI  de la Ley de los Derechos Civiles 1964 y todas sus normas y estatutos. El Titulo VI y los  estatutos relacionados con el mismo prohíben la discriminación en programas  financiados por el Gobierno Federal basada en la raza, color, lugar de origen, sexo,  edad o discapacidad, este estipula que ninguna persona que vive en los Estados Unidos  de América será excluida de participación, se le negará beneficios o de alguna manera  será sujeta a discriminación en cualquier programa o actividad que recibe asistencia  financiera Federal. 

Cualquier persona que crea que ha sido agraviada por una práctica discriminatoria ilegal  dentro de alguno de los programas del Sistema GoCary de la Ciudad de Cary tiene  derecho a presentar una queja formal con las oficinas del Sistema GoCary de la Ciudad  de Cary. Cualquier queja debe ser en forma escrita y entregada al Oficial de  Cumplimiento del Título VI de Ley de la Ciudad de Cary dentro de los siguientes ciento  ochenta (180) días después de que ocurrió el incidente.
