Our
business community is centered in the internationally renowned Research
Triangle Park, allowing Cary to draw from vast technological,
university and people resources.
Cary
is in the heart of the Triangle region, minutes away from a Carolina
Hurricanes hockey game or N.C. State University basketball game
at the RBC Center, or a
Broadway show at the BTI
Center. Enjoy an evening at the
finest restaurants or a weekend getaway at North Carolina’s
beaches or
mountains. Going a bit farther? We’re just four miles from
Raleigh-Durham
International Airport.

Cary takes growth seriously, with an emphasis on growing smarter,
not just bigger. We’re the seventh largest municipality in North
Carolina with an January 2008 population of more than 127,000. We combine
big city amenities with a small town environment while preserving
our natural and historic resources. |

World class golf courses, a
30-court tennis center, SAS
Soccer Park, and
more than 20 public parks, plus major college basketball and football
just
up, and down, the road. Experience the arts at historic Page-Walker
center
and enjoy concerts in Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park, nestled in trees by Symphony Lake.
Whatever your idea of recharging, Cary has the answer. |

Cary ranked as the 14th safest of 378 large cities in Morgan Quitno’s
2007 report of safest and most dangerous cities and was the safest in the Southeast. Cary has progressive, nationally-accredited
police, fire and ambulance services working in partnership with citizens
and business.

Our schools are part of the Wake County
Public School System, whose
students posted record high SAT scores in 2002 and 2003, higher than
the
state or national average. In 2004, SAT scores were again higher than the state or national average. We offer a highly educated workforce –
61
percent of those over age 25 have at least a bachelor’s degree.
And Cary’s
leaders have responded to the interest in public schools by making
education a priority.

We find strength in diversity. The Asian population tripled during
the
1990s, and our Hispanic population grew by 470 percent. Festivals
such as
Diwali
and Kwanzaa
celebrate the cultural mix of Cary.
|

Career, skill, vocational and professional development are available
at
world class universities, including N.C. State University, the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University and Meredith College. |

We’re within minutes of some of the best hospitals in the world,
including
UNC Hospitals, Duke University Medical Center, Rex Hospital, and WakeMed. |

More than 6,000 businesses call Cary home, including SAS Institute,
Inc.,
the world’s largest privately held software developer; Cotton,
Inc.;
Caterpillar; Oxford University Press; and John Deere World/International.
The Town Council
considers incentives for corporations that are relocating
to, or expanding within, the corporate limits. Incentive package
evaluations occur project by project. |

Always focused on the future, Cary will become
host to two light-rail
stations within the next few years. Since 1999, we’ve budgeted
nearly half
a billion dollars for roads, parks, water and wastewater treatment,
and
other projects to continue building for the future. We do this while
retaining the best possible credit ratings from the leading New York
investment firms. |

In Cary we continue building an even better community – one
business, one
neighborhood, at a time. |

A true community is only as strong as the people
who comprise it. That’s
why we work hard to draw individuals and businesses who share our
vision of a vibrant community focused on the future. |
