Committee chair Erv Portman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Committee member Don Frantz was present. Committee member Jennifer Robinson arrived at 5:32 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
Consent

Yates Store Road Renaming
(IP09-001)
Committee unanimously recommended approving the name change of the 800 to 1100
block range of Yates Store Road, the segment between Green Level Church Road and
Alden Bridge Drive, from “Yates Store Road” to “Weldon Ridge Boulevard”.
2. Designation of
Historic Landmarks
(PL09-011)
Committee unanimously recommended that public hearings be held at the Town
Council’s regular meeting on October 30, 2008, to consider an ordinance to
designate the Guess-White-Ogle House and the John Pullen Hunter House as Cary
Historic landmarks, with representatives of the Wake County Historic
Preservation Commission to make presentations and answer questions.

1.
Request for Waivers of Transportation Improvements
(EN09-031)
Committee members Robinson and Frantz recommended approving the waiver of
pedestrian crosswalks, pedestrian signal heads and improved curb radii and
requiring implementation of the other transportation improvements required in
conjunction with the proposed conversion of an existing single-family home
located at 120 Dry Avenue into an office. Committee member Portman preferred
that the full council take time to discuss the waiver request further and
determine if staff should be directed to provide additional information
regarding the Transportation Development Fee Thoroughfare Ordinance
requirements.
2. Corridor Transition Zoning District Ordinance Amendments
(PL09-010)
Committee unanimously recommended that full Council discuss details of ordinance
amendment language changes suggested by staff.
