CARY TREE-LIGHTING FESTIVITIES

TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND

CARY, NC -- The Town of Cary will hold its annual Holiday Tree-Lighting Ceremony and Page-Walker Open House this Sunday evening, December 7, on Town Hall Campus at the corner of North Academy Street and Ambassador Loop.

"People throughout the area have looked forward to this evening for more than ten years now," said Cary Mayor Koka Booth. "It’s an extremely meaningful event for our community."

Unlike similar events in other communities, Cary’s tree-lighting includes a variety of activities for the entire family.

At the tree-lighting, which begins at 6:00 p.m., citizens will be able to enjoy the sounds of the Cary Town Band, Song for All Seasons, Triangle IBM Club Corral, and North Star--the Northwoods Elementary Youth Choir.

Once the lights are on, everyone can walk over to the Page-Walker Arts & History Center to enjoy the Cary Cultural Arts Visual Arts Gallery Show, the Sir Walter Raleigh Doll Club exhibit, and the Children’s Toy Mechanical Banks exhibit. Page-Walker will be open Sunday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

NBC 17’s Byron Day will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

PRIMARY CONTACTS: Robbie Stone, Page-Walker Supervisor, 460-4963

Bill Coleman, Town Manager, 469-4002
