CARY HOLIDAY SEASON KICKOFF THIS WEEKEND

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary’s celebration of the holiday season will begin on Sunday evening, December 5th with the holiday tree lighting, a concert and open house. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM in downtown Cary outside Town Hall, 316 North Academy Street downtown.

"This event really helps to bring our community together," said Town Manager Bill Coleman.

NBC-17’s Donna Gregory will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies this year, and Captain Brad Hudson of the Cary Police Department has been chosen to flip the switch to light the 35-foot-tall Eastern

Red Cedar. Entertainment will include: A Song For All Seasons, whose member are drawn from the Concert Singers of Cary; Inis Cairde Irish Dancers; Cary High School Concert Chorus; and the Cary Town Band.

Immediately following the tree lighting, the public is invited to a reception at the Page Walker Arts & History Center, located just behind Town Hall on Ambassador Loop. There, the Corbi-Thompson Quartet will provide live jazz and free refreshments will available.

In addition to the Town of Cary Holiday Ceremonies on December 5th, the Cary Jaycees will sponsor their annual Christmas Parade on December 11th at 2:00 PM.
