PSA--LEAK TESTING OF SEWER

The Town of Cary will be conducting leak tests of the sanitary sewer system in the area inside the Maynard loop south of Walnut Street and west of Harrison Avenue and west of Academy Street. Testing in this large area will begin in September and take several weeks to complete, so notices will be placed at each home or building when the testing is scheduled to occur within the next 24 hours. The testing consists of forcing a special, non-toxic smoke into the neighborhood sewer lines. While the smoke is not harmful to people, plants, or animals, citizens in the test area with asthma, emphysema, or some other respiratory conditions should notify the Town immediately so that we can discuss your case in further detail if you plan to stay in the building during the testing.
