CARY LANDSCAPER WINS STATEWIDE RECOGNITION

CARY, NC – Dale North—Landscape Specialist for the Town of Cary--is this year’s Employee of the Year of the North Carolina chapter of the American Public Works Association, Buildings and Grounds Division. North has been with the Town of Cary for 16 years working with teams on landscape design and installation, park grounds maintenance, turf/sports field management. Each of the 100 counties and more than 500 municipalities in the state are eligible to nominate employees. North received the award on October 14th in Asheville, NC, and he will be recognized for his achievement by the Cary Town Council at this Thursday evening’s regular meeting.

"It’s very rewarding to be recognized by your peers for doing a job you love," said Dale North.

North is very involved in the North Carolina Nurseryman’s Council and the North Carolina Turf Grass Council. He, his wife Lisa, and their two children are extremely active in new Horizon’s Christian Church through which he has coordinated a Central American disaster recovery effort and participated in building programs in rural Pennsylvania. North has been cited for excellence on numerous occasions by Town of Cary staff and was nominated last year for the Town’s Employee of the Year Award.

"Dale is extremely genuine, with a positive, ‘Can Do’ attitude," said Public Works Director, Mike Bajorek. "He is the type of coworker people want to be around. While he shies away from public recognition, Dale’s quiet leadership produces quality work."
