PSA--CARY ANNOUNCES MLK ACTIVITES

Three events—each being held at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center--will provide an early kickoff to DreamFest 2000, Cary’s annual celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 5 - February 1: "Expression of the Dream"-- an exhibition of celebrated artists--will be featured in "Peace, Unity, and Social Justice: The Message of Martin Luther King, Jr." Call 460-4963 for exhibit times.

January 6: Local author, Ella Arrington Williams-Vinson will discuss and reflect on her work, Both Sides of the Tracks: A Profile Of The Colored Community In Cary. 1:00-2:00 PM.

January 7: "Dream of Inspiration" is a musical extravaganza featuring The Cary Concert Singers and The Harris/Mintz Dance Company. 7:30-8:30PM.

Core DreamFest 2000 events will be held January 14-16 throughout Cary as follows:

January 14: International recording artist, DeNeay, performs live at the Cary Community Center at 8:00 PM, followed by "Dream Dance", a local dance instructor and students will guide a 2 ½ hour party of New World music.

January 15: "Dream of Democracy" unity march, rally, and luncheon in downtown Cary, beginning at 10:30 AM at the Fidelity Bank and concluding at Cary's Town Council Chambers. Lunch will follow at the Community Center. That evening the "Dream Makers" awards presentation and reception is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Page-Walker Arts & History Center.

January 16: "Dream United" closing service at the Cary Community Center from 3:00-4:00 PM.
