FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 3, 1999
NEW MAIL-IN REGISTRATION FOR CARY PRCR PROGRAMS BEGINS MONDAY
CARY, NC The Town of Carys new Mail-In Advance Registration Option for Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources classes begins on Monday. Cary residents may mail in registration forms with full payment beginning December 6th. Registration envelopes will be randomly opened and processed daily beginning December 7th. While mail-in registration for Cary residents will be accepted for several weeks, mail must be postmarked no later than December 10th in order to receive priority over other types of registration. Walk-in registration for Cary residents starts December 15th.
"The mail-in process is designed to make registration more convenient and equitable for Cary citizens," said Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Project Director Judy Willard. Willard noted that the mail-in option is a predecessor to online registration that the Town hopes to implement in 2000.
Non-resident registration begins December 20th. These registrations will also be randomly opened and processed, beginning December 21st. Non-residents need to remember to add the non-resident fee indicated in the program description. Non-resident walk-in registration begins December 20th. Because programs fill up early with Cary resident participants, non-residents are encouraged to contact the facility offering the class and check availability before registering.
Free Winter/Spring Program Brochures and registration forms are now available at any Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources facility as well as online at www.townofcary.org in the WHATS NEW section. Note that separate registration forms available only at the PRCR office on James Jackson Road are required for Athletic Programs and Special Events.
Registration checks should be made payable to Town of Cary and mailed to Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, PO Box 8005, Cary, NC 27512-8005. Since some classes fill quickly, folks willing to credit their accounts may write one check for all classes being requested. If a requested class ends up not being available, credits may be used toward any future program registration at any Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources' facility. If account credit is not acceptable, separate checks should be written for each class for each participant.
