PREPARE FOR FLOYD IMPACT
CARY, NC With high winds and flooding expected tonight and into tomorrow, Carys FLOYD HOTLINE will be staffed 24 hours a day until further notice. The HOTLINE number is 469-4090. Important information can also be accessed via the Towns website at www.townofcary.org.
Preparations on Carys EOClocated at the Public Works & Utilities Operations Center--are complete, and the EOC will be activated at 9 PM this evening unless conditions change. Many Town employees are now on duty working 12-hour shifts, and other emergency personnel are on standby to handle Town issues on a 24-hour schedule as needed.
Citizens are advised to complete ALL preparedness tasks immediately as Floyd will likely remain a significant threat to the Triangle for some time.
Cary Citizens with any NON-EMERGENCY questions or those needing to report downed trees or other property damage not posing immediate threats to persons should call the FLOYD HOTLINE at 469-4090. At press time, the HOTLINE had received about 185 calls. Only actual emergencies threatening life and health should be reported to 9-1-1.
The next update from the Town of Cary will be issued around 9:30 PM this evening unless changing conditions warrant further action.
