BANDS, DANCERS & ACTORS TAKE TO THE STAGE FOR CARY PERFORMS AT BOND PARK

Annual free performance features seven of Cary ’s finest ensembles

 

CARY , NC Cary is continuing the music tradition that features the area’s most talented performing artists at this year’s “ Cary Performs” on Friday, April 18-19 at Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park, 801 High House Road .  On Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. , the Cary Town Band will move audiences with marches, waltzes and light classical music, and the entertainment continues on Saturday at 1 p.m. with performances by the Philharmonic Association, Applause! Cary Youth Theatre, Cary Players, Cary Ballet, Triangle Wind Ensemble, Triangle Brass Band and more of the Cary Town Band.  The shows are free and open to the public.

 

“Bring the entire family to Cary Performs for a showcase unlike any other,” said Sarah Bunch, Town of Cary Performing Arts Coordinator .  “Pack a lunch and bring a blanket to enjoy the relaxing sights and sounds that the Amphitheatre has to offer.” 

 

Cary Performs was first held in 2006, but the event was cancelled in 2007 because of inclement weather.  In case of rain this weekend, the event will be postponed until Sunday, April 20 at
2 p.m.   Any changes due to inclement weather will be available by calling (919) 462-3969 at least three hours before the shows begin.

 

Cary Performs marks the first performance in the Town’s annual Spring Sertoma Series.  Two performances remain in the series, including Eric Kearns on Sunday, May 4 and the Triangle Wind Ensemble on Sunday, June 8.  For more, visit Spring Sertoma Series at www.townofcary.org.
