911 CALLS RELEASED AS COOPER MURDER INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

 

CARY, NC - In accordance with state public records law, the Town of Cary Police Department is releasing the 911 calls made in the Nancy Cooper murder case.

 

The first call was made to the Cary 911 communications center at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 to report Nancy Cooper missing.

The second call was made at 7:35 p.m. on Monday, July 14 to report that a woman’s body was found. The call came into the Cary 911 communications center and was transferred first to the Raleigh-Wake 911 communications center and then to the Wake County’s Sheriff’s Office, which had jurisdiction. Audio from all three calls is provided.

In keeping with Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore’s direction, the Town of Cary will not answer questions about this public record. The Cary Police Department is continuing its thorough investigation into Cooper’s death and has not named a suspect or person of interest.
